Open and Club Competitions

The club holds three open competitions, an outdoor club championship and at least two indoor fun competitions every year

The open competitions consist of

The Metric Madness, held in May
The Invitation Longbow Shoot held in July
The Cockermouth Clout held in September

The club outdoor championship is a handicap shoot held on a Saturday in September, just after the schools start back.

The club indoor championship is a handicap H2H shoot based on the Dean rounds. A seperate senior and junior competition is held at the end of March

The fun competitions are organised by our junior members and are typically held at Chrstmas and Easter

Entry forms for most club and county shoots are available on the county website

Results are posted at the club hut at Grassmoor and also on the county web site

Cumbria takes part in two Inter-County Matches, anybody who would like to try out for the team should firstly fill out a squad application form., which will be available from the club secretary or the club records officer.

Postal Leagues

The club enters the BA Postal League in Winter and the Selby Postal League in Summer

We shoot the recurve Frostbite round for the BA Postal League.In the 2009/10 competition we won four matches and lost our last match by three points after we smashed through our threshold score. Well done to everybody who took part. Next year we will enter two teams.

2010 is our first year to take part in the Selby Summer Postal League. We will have two recurve teams and two longbow teams.

The recurve teams will shoot a short metric on the first Saturday of the month. The longbow teams will shoot a National on the second Saturday of the month.

All members are welcome to come along and shoot for the club, all matches start at 10am
